Andrew's Exchange to University of Victoria | Canada
Going on exchange to the University of Victoria was the best experience of my life. I am a student from Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. I am studying a double degree majoring in International Business, Sound and Radio. I chose to study at UVIC because I had heard how beautiful the west coast of Canada is, and I had heard correctly.
After only 4 months in Canada I had been trekking through and swimming in gold stream park, surfed waves in Tofino, cliff jumped at Thetis Lake, seen the sunrise from the top of Mount Douglas, went bungee jumping in whistler and even seen bears fishing for salmon in Ucluelet. In addition during reading break a bunch of my exchange friends and I drove over 900km to Calgary to see Lake Louise, watch an NHL match and go snowboarding in the beautiful Banff.
These are just some of the very many things to you can experience while studying at UVIC. Victoria is in an amazing location too. Seattle is just a short ferry ride away as is Vancouver and many people have actually gone to Alaska. I would recommend to every student to go on exchange as it is just an amazing opportunity. Regardless of which area of the world you go to or what you are studying, I would argue that this would greatly benefit any student.
Not only did I get to achieve so much while on exchange but I was able to meet some people that I will stay friends with for the rest of my life (even if most of these people were exchange students from Europe). I would highly recommend the University of Victoria as the exchange destination to any other exchange students not sure where to go.
