Rebecca's Exchange to Simon Fraser University | Canada
In the first half of 2013 I participated in the exchange program and travelled to Vancouver, Canada for one semester. Without a doubt, this experience was the greatest so far of my life. I was so fortunate to enjoy so many different experiences; I cannot possibly list them all. Some of my favourite memories include spending Australia day at Whistler ski resort with other Australian exchange students and travelling to Cuba for spring break with friends I had met on campus only weeks before!
I made so many friends and contacts during my exchange. Not only did I become close with the two other Murdoch students who travelled to Simon Fraser University with me, I now have somewhere to stay all over the world thanks to the university’s extensive group of exchange students. I took interesting classes, and stayed in the student housing on campus so was also involved in the activities provided by the uni like pizza nights and trips to the local bowling alley.
Going on exchange has given me so much independence and confidence to go out and see the rest of the world. I definitely believe that every student should participate in it if possible. It is incredible how much it will change your life!
