Visa Information

- Working Rights- If you are a student from outside the EU and hold a residence permit in the Netherlands for study purposes, you are allowed to work next to your studies. You are allowed to work a maximum of ten hours per week, and full-time in the summer months (June to August). Your employer must arrange a work permit for you. Medical Insurance
- You are required by Dutch law to have sufficient health insurance cover during your stay in the Netherlands. Insufficient, incorrect or no insurance can result in heavy fines or mounting medical expenses.
- If you wish to do paid work or an internship in the Netherlands, you are required to take out Dutch public health insurance (see details below). It is vital you arrange your health insurance before arriving in the Netherlands. You may authorise HU (on the visa application form) to ask the Dutch health insurance organisation IPS to contact you during the application procedure or you must arrange this yourself with a Dutch insurance organisation.

- Students are insured through Murdoch University free of charge
Accommodation Options
- Students living in student housing generally have a bedroom to themselves, they share a kitchen and bathroom.
- Your SSH Short Stay accommodation is conveniently located and comes fully furnished and supplied with cleaning and cooking utensils.
- Rental fees are between € 375 and € 655 per month and include utilities (water, heating, electricity and Internet).
