Everything You Need To Know About Credit Transfer!

For any Exchange partner university you choose, you will remain enrolled at Murdoch University as a full-degree student. At the end of your Exchange semester or year, your full-time credit points from overseas are transferred to your Murdoch degree. If you have questions about credit transfer please contact the Student Mobility Officer (Outbound).
If you are an external or part-time student at Murdoch University, please note that you have to be enrolled internal and full-time while overseas.
General Electives vs. Specified Electives vs. Core UnitUsing your general electives whilst on Exchange will provide the most flexibility and more options for where and what you can study. Therefore we recommend you save your Electives for your time overseas and don't take them while at Murdoch. However, if you are looking to complete core units and specified electives overseas, then you may be more restricted as to where you can go, since not all of our partner institutions offer similar courses to Murdoch. It is best to browse the units offered by your host institution and select those you think could be suitable to your Murdoch course. Please note that many partner universities name their units "course" or "subject" and course "program" so don't get confused. Also you need to remember that there is no guarantee that you can enroll into every unit that you choose or that have given permission to from Murdoch University and also your host university.
Note:
All our partner universities offer units in English, so you do not need to know a second language to go to a non-English speaking country. However many Exchange students have chosen to enrol in introductory language units in the past, which is recommended and lots of fun.
We cannot guarantee the enrolment in specific units at your host university. You have to be flexible and have multiple units to choose from.
Studying abroad is also a great opportunity to choose units that are country specific and that you can't take at Murdoch University. Again, speak to your Academic Chair about your options. Make sure you do research possible units before you apply.
